With Christmas now just over a week away, as an eCommerce expert and digital marketing consultant, I’m now beginning to unwind and Myk Baxter Marketing is closing its doors this evening after a fantastic year.
But first, I wanted to reflect on the year gone by and share my highlights of 2022, fueled by some fantastic people (who I’ll share more on later) and my brilliant team who’ve allowed me to take my eCommerce consulting to another level this year.
Let’s get into it.
If you are a recurring reader, you’ll know that I began the year with the worst mindset & that I wanted to throw in the towel when it came to my business, after 12 years it can get tiring and lively. But that all changed when I reached out to the CEO Adventurer John Beamson.
Helping business owners like myself transform their mindset which in turn supports mental health through rigorous hikes and CEO days out, John’s passion and dedication to helping others is unmatched. Since joining him on my first trip up Roseberry Topping back in January, I’ve since tackled the National Three Peaks, Yorkshire Three Peaks challenges, and a lot more in between and I’ve never felt better.
To kickoff of 2023 with a bang I’ve signed myself up for another 12-month program with John, and oh is it going to be good! Oh, btw you can also now acknowledge me as “Hiking Myk” Lol.
Reflecting on 2022 & Myk Baxter Marketing, we’ve had a fantastic year in terms of client relations and how we’ve been able to grow as an agency and team.
My close-knit team of experts is continuing to expand, and the number of projects on our books each month is growing, whether they be web development, paid advertising, or SEO based. Over the next year, we will also be spending more time on Shopify Development and Copywriting, two of the most in-demand services right now.
Naturally, like anyone we’ve hit some bumps in the road but we’ve dealt with them head-on and got stronger from them. We’re now no longer afraid to cut off negative clients, putting our mental health above anything else to keep those stress levels down is the biggest and most important lesson I’ve learned.
We’ve also introduced Teamwork, a great project management tool into our daily routine which has made a great difference in our ability to onboard more work & hit deadlines right on time. Over the last twelve years, we’ve used many project management tools but none have ever felt just right, whilst Teamwork’s easy-to-use tools and collaborative approach have made us feel like we’ve found the perfect fit for us.
Another great transformation this year, is the one here on eCommerce Expert. Whilst, I still share updates on the latest digital marketing trends and news, I’ve also used this as a place to journal on some brilliant business trips this year in Barcelona, Turkey & Tenerife. Networking and talking to business owners in the sun has been such a blessing and I’m grateful to be able to work anywhere in the world.
On the topic of networking, I’ve also shared the first of many business showcases to come over recent months including; Debbie Rocket & The Rocket VA Academy & Holly Thomson, founder of Blonde Creative Ltd.
A year of networking has already set me up for a great 2023, but I wouldn’t still be sitting here today if it weren’t for my current clients, and those I’ve worked closely with across the last twelve months. I have to say a huge thank you to all, and I’m very grateful you chose to work with us and helped my digital marketing agency flourish.
I’ll be continuing to document our journey following our return on the 4th of January – as well as more on the latest digital marketing news, trends, and case studies.
I will now bow out of this blog post by wishing you, my readers, a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
