#MBM Turns 11 Today!
Myk Baxter Marketing journey began an amazing 11 years ago when I opened my first office in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham. While working on my own marketing strategies in search of clients, I read the book “The Four Hour Work Week” by Tim Ferris that helped me to find my footing.
Not long after I saw a tough period in my life after my Mother passed, which saw me realigning my business and moving to Southeast Asia in 2011, developing the brand internationally, and launching MBM Asia.
The launch was more successful than I could have imagined, with clients from across the world reaching out to MBM for digital marketing and web development services that spoke to their visions and fulfilled their needs.
In 2015, once my network was well established, I returned to the UK and relocated to London in order to provide our international-standard services to clients at home once again.
By 2017, MBM was balancing clients from around the world and I decided to return to Southeast Asia and manage the business from the sunny beaches of Thailand.
However, due to a small economic crisis to hit the region in 2018 and after an international investment went wrong, the business hit large financial losses and I had to return home once again to old blighty & start from scratch.
Although a knock to both our clients and our pride, I vowed to fight on for the business and in just one year we were already bouncing back. Today, we’re going from strength to strength, our team is over 30% larger than in 2015 and even COVID-19 couldn’t knock us down.
The birth of my daughter, Amber, in 2020 was also an incredible moment in my life and although baby care can be exhausting at times, she’s inspired me to work even harder to ensure her future is as great as it can be.
As we turn 11 in the unpredictable year that 2021 will surely be, MBM is moving its focus to supporting the hundreds of clients rushing into the e-commerce industry. I would like to say a huge thank you to all of our clients both past and present, our partners, and to my team as we continue to follow this incredible journey together.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s not been an easy ride and we have only survived thanks to strong friendships and trusting clients – a business like MBM will go through peaks and troughs, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. It keeps us on our toes and means we provide the best service to our clients no matter the situation outside.
Happy Monday and enjoy the lifting of lockdown as we raise a toast to another great year at #MykBaxterMarketing!
